Doesn't Last
Had I written my review even a month ago, I would have given it five stars. It comes in handy when I go to doctors, not just to take reading material, but I have a document in it with all my allergies and medications and can just hand that to the nurse instead of running through them. When I went in for surgery last month the tablet got passed around in pre-op so everyone was on the same page and I didn't have to keep answering the same questions over and over. A week or two ago I purchased an app that is a word scramble game. I have played it many times. Even before this, I noticed that my tablet keeps dropping the Wi-Fi quite often and I have to keep going into settings to turn off Wi-Fi and then turn it back on. Last night, after having been reading on my Kindle Fire most of the afternoon, I decided to play on the word game. All of a sudden my screen when nuts with all kinds of lines coming up. Then it became white. I could not do anything on it. I tried turning it off by holding the power button till the screen went black and then back on. Believing it was the game causing it, I was finally able to manage to get the settings screen to return and deleted the app. When the screen would be on, it was all fuzzy and distorted. I try to keep most apps on my SD card. I will have to try and see if I can do anything else with it today. I am very disappointed as this machine is just over five months old and should not be having these kinds of issues. Had to talk to Customer Service on the phone. Sounded like they were having a party it was so loud. Spent about ten minutes either on hold while the person checked things or talking to the first person. Finally they decided this needed to be escalated to the real troubleshooters. This person asked me a question and while I was trying to answer it, she kept talking. Finally, I stopped her and instead of trying to help me fix my device, she told me I have to purchase a new tablet for $33.35. I guess that is Amazon's answer. They do not help you troubleshoot things when they go wrong after the 90 day warranty, they make you purchase a new one. I am so disappointed and looking to purchase a new tablet from someone else. Anything has to be better than this.
