Revised - Is this mold??!
Finally a TRULY healthy pasta! It cooks really nicely, you almost can't over cook it, not like some of the organic gluten free pastas that get all mushy and aren't even truly healthy. Oh yeah... and it tastes great, too!
That was my previous review. Here is my revised review:
I have contacted Tolerant in the past regarding this issue. I used to buy your pasta at Costco. One day I opened a box from Costco and there was brownish-gray fuzzy-powdery stuff all over the pasta. I contacted Tolerant and I was told not to worry, that it was probably just the lentil flour separating. This did not really make sense to me, considering the pasta is red and the dust was grayish but I decided to give it another try. Since then I have bought many boxes of Tolerant pasta on Amazon. I purchased in large quantities of both the red and green varieties because I received a discount code. I am not sure how many of those boxes ended up having this same fuzzy stuff on them. Usually I just kept soaking and rinsing until all of the fuzz was gone. This took many rinses and usually soaking overnight. I didn't want to waste the pasta, after all this is not an inexpensive product. However, I have had enough! I was trying to get dinner together and opened a box of Tolerant. I look inside and it has gray fuzz. I had no time to do the washing of my pasta, so I opened another box and it was the same. I opened all SIX of my remaining boxes of Tolerant pasta and they ALL had grayish fuzzy stuff! I really don't want to go back to unhealthy traditional pasta but now I feel I have no choice. Oh, and for the record these boxes all had an expiration date of May 2018.
