Worthless product for any dog above the size of a Chihuahua or a pocket-book dog...or maybe a cat. Note the comments made with 4 or 5 star ratings and what kind of dog they mention. They are almost all small. It is not that the foam would not hold a large dog, the problem is that the depth (not the width) of the steps is so small a large dog could never feel secure on this thing, even if they are used to going up and down steps. Also remember that many people buy products like this because their dog is having trouble walking and has an extra need to feel stable and secure. Add that to the mix. The depth of each step is just 6 inches - minus a little because the cover doesn't exactly sit flatly in the crease between the steps. Look around your house and try to find a set of steps with only a 6 inch depth. I suggest you will find either none or very few. I included a picture from the Amazon listing for this product - used to show a person in (unknown size) work boots of some kind standing on two of the steps. Notice the sideways position of the feet/shoes. Do you climb steps sideways like that? Imagine those shoes turned around for a normal way to climb steps and you will see how little room that person (or a dog) would have to feel comfortable on those steps. Keep looking. These miniature steps are not the help your dog needs.
