I decided to ignore other's negative reviews about this units and reported complaints about false alarm. Boy was I wrong. This thing went off in the middle of the night, setting off our other smoke detectors and scaring the beejezus of me and my family. I thought I would be lucky and get a good unit. The irony is, this model is supposed to have extra sensor technology to avoid false positives. The only false positive here is that this is a quality product. Stay away from it. PS - The original smoke detectors in my house (15+ years old) work like a charm, go off whenever there's smoke and do not have false alarms.
