This is a Christian based journal that is steeped in conservative gender norms.
If you are interested in a Christian worldview based journal, this is a great book. If not, keep looking. There are references to God, favorite scriptures, heaven, etc. throughout the text.
Additionally, conservative gender norms are subtly reinforced with fonts and images that are masculine for sons (sports, arrows, trophies, bulls with horns, stags) and feminine for mothers (flowers, hearts, grocery carts!)
I like many of the prompts, but feel like the values that are explicitly and implicitly encouraged are off-putting for our family.
