Disappointing
About 90% of the recipes for jams, jellies and preserves in this book call for commercial pectin. Had I known this (none of the reviews I read mentioned the fact), I would never have asked for this book as a birthday gift from family. Not only is pectin expensive, it gives a very different result than the old-fashioned slow-cook method. Too bad, because otherwise it's a comprehensive work on preserving. --Anna B.
