This item was fine when I initially received it but three weeks later it would not work at all. I have two USB ports on either side of my laptop and I tried both of them several times. I shut the computer down and rebooted. Nothing. The indicator light, which should be lit when there's power would not come on. You can see in my pictures where I've circled this area in blue to demonstrate that my laptop was on but nothing happened. I even had my highly tech savvy friend plug it up on his MAC & PC to make sure it wasn't my drivers. It didn't work for him either. As for the look and design of the item itself, I like that the cord tucks away but it's a very poor design choice to make the cord that short.. When plugged up to my laptop I barely had enough room to set it down and it often dangled. I did like the plug & play feature but with all of the other missteps on the functionality I would not buy this again or recommend it.
