These are -- were -- our favorite holiday cookies. We ordered them three times last Christmas, and now again, just a few weeks ago. The first two times we ordered them last year, they were perfect: whole cookies covered in white powdered sugar, just as pictured on the tin cover. The third time last year, and now this year: not so much. About half of the cookies are broken and there is almost no powdered sugar at all: just two tins full of broken brown lumps. I guess I'm the definition of "insane" -- doing the same thing over and over again but hoping for a different result. When these cookies are good, they're very, very good. When they're bad, they're horrid.
