Updated from August 18, 2018 post. - I lowered my review from 5 to 2 due to serious reliability issue. I am roughly 8,000 miles away, in the middle of the ocean and my lock seems to be stuck in Privacy Mode. The iOS app seems to be fine, I can lock and unlock from the app, but no one's code works at the door. It gives the message as if Privacy mode is on. I can turn off from the app - still doesn't work. I had someone go into the house and turn privacy on then off then on then off again and test their code at the keypad - no joy. The keypad seems to lock out all codes. There is no one who can do a manual reset at home - beyond their skill level. Now what - this is my biggest concern with these types of locks - getting locked out. I need for my sitter to be able to get in and out using her code. It worked until yesterday, roughly six weeks, no issues - now it seems failed. Either the lock has partially failed, or some other issue - Yale and Nest troubleshooting guides have not helped. Battery is reported by app to be good. If reliability is an issue it will have to come out - and be returned for a refund. But in the meantime the Nest x Yale lock is partially failed and not doing what it is supposed to do. Solid. Easy to install in my door, maybe others would need more door modification. This lock fit my standard door. One recommendation is to make sure and do a reset to factory defaults before testing the installed lock. It has to be at default to for test. Another thing to watch is the depth the hole in the door frame to receive the bolt. Mine was about an eighth shallow and the test failed. A sharp wood chisel fixed it in minutes. Programming is easy. The Nest Connect connected to my network on first try. Nest app controls and monitors the lock - so far very reliable. In summary, good product, does what they say it will do. Amazon delivery was fast, as usual, packaging was fine.
