Contains SODIUM HYDROXIDE(Lye)-beware if you are not a fan of the active ingredient in hair relaxers. I used the gel upon arrival and recognized the odor from beauty salons;I checked the ingredients and YES this gel contains Sodium Hydroxide. I immediately rewashed my hair to remove the product. I cannot say how it works because, I cannot use Sodium Hydroxide.
