I got this with the intention of using it as a beard trimmer. If you enjoy a closer cut on your beard then this is not for you. I had an older, similiarly priced Nolrelco trimmer which cut more 'consistantly'. This trimmer leaves quite a few longer hairs sticking up, and if you want to make sure that all your hairs are even you have to go over your face a LOT- like 20 times. It may work well for longer hair trimming, but if you like to keep your beard cut at the "lowest setting" then its a real pain in the butt to get this to do the trick. I'm going to go back to the Nolrelco. Luckily they are both fairly cheap.
