Failed after 16 Months
I’ve had a hard time writing this review because in one way this toothbrush does a fabulous job of getting my teeth clean; however, I am not happy that after less than two years of use my $50 toothbrush isn’t working. As I said, the brushing part is fabulous and my teeth feel as though I’ve just had a cleaning at the dentist every time I use the brush. The things that I don’t like at all are: One - the continual flashing green light when the toothbrush is charging. I can’t charge my toothbrush in my bathroom due to lack of counter space and so have it in my bedroom. The flashing green light means that I can’t have it charging when I am trying to sleep. A steady “on” light or even better a light that indicates it’s done charging would be a much better design. Two - the toothbrush indicates when it’s time to switch to a different quadrant of the mouth by slowing and then speeding up again. This is very irritating as it interrupts my flow for brushing my teeth. I always spend longer in each quadrant of the mouth and I wish this feature could be turned off if it’s not needed. The WORST thing; however, is that the toothbrush is no longer charging properly. I can’t even get a full brushing done without the brush losing power. Oral B does offer a 2-year warranty and they are willing to repair the toothbrush but that means that I have to send it in to them and then it will take 7 to 10 days before I get it back. I can’t get along without this brush for up to two weeks. When I explained this to the “advisor” at Oral B they were not at all sympathetic and quoted “standard policy”. So, does that mean I should spend another $50 to get a replacement for the weeks that I need to have this brush or will that toothbrush also fail. I wonder how long these toothbrushes actually last because this one has failed in 16 months. Oral B doesn’t seem to care about standing behind their product. In addition, the first time I tried to contact them via the phone, I sat on hold for 28 minutes and then they hung up on me. If you need to contact them, use “chat”. As usual, this huge company (Procter & Gamble) doesn’t seem to care at all about their customers and only about their bottom line.
