First the good news. It came well-packed and when the magnet piece arrive smashed, the Merry Products terrific customer service folks sent a new one right away. It is solid and was not too difficult to assemble. I was pleased. All went well for a time. Now the bad news. One of my cats missed the litter box (even though I use a jumbo, high-sided box), and her urine seeped into the bench, causing it to warp and peel, even on the outside. To make matters worse, I can't get the smell out. What was meant to keep cat litter, mess and odors to a minimum has been a total waste of money. It now looks terrible and smells worse. I think I am going to need to throw the entire thing out. Why on earth would anyone build a cat box surround that was not resistant to moisture? Or better, waterproof? All it takes is one mistake / spill and the entire piece is ruined? Anyway, I am very disappointed. This was not a small expense for me, but I was hoping it would help hide a litter box in a small home. I have contacted Merry Products and look forward to their response. Update: All my attempts to contact the company have failed. Email bounces back, their e-form on their web site failed. Phone busy. Wondering if they are still in business?
