Broke after a few uses. Only good for very light work.
This is junk and should only be used for very light work.
It died within 2 weeks of purchase while making my second buttercream. The beaters stripped inside and stopped turning with a burning smell coming out of the unit. This might be good for beating eggs or a box mix of cake, but is not usable for a thick batter, mashed potatoes, dough, frosting, or anything that will give it any kind of a struggle. I did not notice a difference with the supposed "220 watt powerful motor" compared to the weaker one it replaced.
To give you an idea what broke it, this was my recipe (and note I did not try to mix all ingredients all at once):
- 2 sticks butter
- 8ox pack creme cheese
- 4 cups confectioner sugar
- vanilla
Couple other minor issues I did not like: I didn't read the fine print and paid more for the "brushed metal" one which is just plastic colored like brushed metal. The speed control is convenient, however being flush and placed right where you grip, I found myself constantly accidentally turning the speed up.
I would not buy this again. I'm going to contact Cuisinart to get a replacement and I'm sure they'll honor that, but l don't feel I can count on this for a baking project. Nothing worse that the mixer breaking in the middle of it!
