DO NOT BUY THIS SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD FROM AMAZON! And by extension, you might be careful of any software you buy from them. I wish I had read the reviews before buying this download of the H&R Block Tax Software (for tax year 2018)- but what could possibly have gone wrong! I have used this software without issue for years. But the activation code for this Amazon download, while it worked to install the software, is NOT recognized as valid once I go to submit a tax return. First the Amazon Digital support tried to tell me that I needed a separate code for the eFile- that was just wrong, and I hate it when 'support' just lies when they don't know about something. I then talked to this person's manager- and the only answer I got was, in a word- tough. And there is no case number, and no one else I could talk to. I was told to contact H&R Block. While I will try that, I am not hopeful- one other person has tried that already and been told by H&R Block that it was Amazon's issue as a 3rd Party seller. Overall, I like Amazon as a seller- but in this they have failed miserably. So my choices are either to re-purchase the software, or to pay for each eFile- and I need to do three of them. Oh- and Amazon makes it hard to contact them- I had to use Google to find a phone number for their Digital Orders Support: 866-216-1072 (in case others need it- and you will) UPDATE: I called H&R Block at: 1-800-472-5625, ext 3, then 4. The automated system emailed my a new activation code for E-Filing. It also did NOT work! So I called back, using ext 0, then 3, got the same automated voice, then finally a live person after asking for one a couple of times- the H&R Block support person was very helpful- she gave me another activation code to try while on the phone with her...and it worked! E-File tax return is now on the way.
