Cheap Knockoff
This is not a true Japanese cast iron pot. It’s made in China. With all the description about iron ions and all you’d think it’s cast iron throughout but it’s actually enameled inside. While the seller description says that the pot can be heated directly on the stove, it’s well known that the enameled coating will not withstand the heat. The outside is apparently painted. I let it sit on my white countertop after washing. A spot that wasn’t wiped dry left a purple-ish stain on the countertop. All I can say is this is a good looking knock-off that shows its inferiority quickly.
