The reviews for this looked great and I really wanted to like it, but it just doesn't do what it's intended to do. Upon setting it up for the first time, I was a little surprised at how little air I felt come through the 3 fans. But I figured maybe that's a poor way to test the cooler and decided to run some tests on my own. Using a handful of temperature monitors, I ran a series of tests on my laptop to see how much cooling this device provided. Did my best to replicate scenarios (including the level the internal fans were running at). I was surprised that the cooling benefit was almost non-existent. There was maybe a 1-2 degree difference when running some higher end applications (this falls within a margin of error), but I think that had more to do with the increased air flow the cooler provides by having an incline. Now part of the problem might be the 3-fan design. While you'd think it would provide a broader array of airflow, it actually limits the space a great deal. Almost all the air comes from a small part in the middle. As an example, I took a single sheet of Kleenex and covered the left and right third of the cooler. It had almost no effect. Now when I played it over the middle third, it blew it off. Now maybe this means it will provide better results depending on the brand of laptop you have and how they configure their exhausts. Mine is an MSI. Perhaps it would be beneficial to those with older laptops that have internal fan issues or are much dirtier inside. But in my opinion, I just don't see it providing much airflow in the right spots to make a difference. I think the differences people are seeing is from the incline providing some air flow in the back of the laptop which will always help laptop temperature a bit. On the plus side, it is well built. At the price I was expecting something with a cheaper feel but this was quite sturdy. In fact, it makes a nice stand for your laptop. The lights are attractive and it does provide you with an additional USB port. As others have mentioned, it is quiet, although that is at the expense of power. Overall I think I'd pass on this if you're expecting dramatic results. It makes a nice stand and the elevation in back might benefit you a little bit if you do not place your laptop on a flat surface. But it provided no cooling benefit for me. UPDATE 7/20/15 - Per request, I uploaded a video. This is a sheet of Puffs brand tissue sitting on top of the fans. I'm not an expert on these cooling fans and maybe mine is performing differently from others, but this is the airflow I'm getting from mine. Hope it helps. I'd also add that one of the 4 padded bottom pieces has already fallen off. If I can find it, I'll super glue it back on but a little disappointing.
