Toshiba will not stand by its warranty
I installed the drive and everything was working well. About a year after usage, I was having issues with data corruption. While removing the drive, the plastic covering the SATA data pins came off making the drive difficult to use. The SATA data connector was put on and removed just as any other drive and was not forcibly removed. The plastic broke unnecessarily easy due to poor crafstmanship. Defects can and do happen. That is understandable. I submitted the drive for RMA through Toshiba's website and stated the defect. I mailed the drive at my expense, and was told after it arrived that Toshiba will not accept the drive due to the broken plastic. I let the receiving person know that the broken connector was the reason for the claim to which he stated warranty return is for dead drives only. Toshiba does not stand by it's own products and does not care about it's quality or it's customers. I will not be buying another Toshiba product again let alone another Toshiba hard drive.
