This is an honest non paid for non free item given review. At first we liked the Yi Cameras and the Yi Home App. But not anymore! Slowly, basic features went away and were no longer available, unless you paid for the cloud storage. And Ads started to show up, annoyingly on your home screen! You can go into your settings and click to "Opt out of ads". But that did nothing. Contacted Yi. They said to close and re-open the App. Or restart my tablet the App was on, for the Ads to disappear. Well, the Ads never went away! Ever. Then all over the home screen and even on every single video you watch. There are buttons and messages to "Subscribe to the cloud!" The App is VERY glitch-y! And a total pain in the butt. We go through the videos. Will click "delete" to delete them. Then when we go to another day, and auto scroll to a different day. And land on the day of videos we just deleted. The videos re-appear! Thus having to re-delete them! Sometimes it takes deleting 3 times for the videos to finally delete! The most annoying and infuriating. Without paying for a cloud subscription, we used to be able to save videos to our tablet. After about a month ago. We can no longer save videos! What's also annoying and "why?" about these cameras and this Yi system. Yi says that we MUST install Micro SD Cards into ALL cameras, or the cameras will somehow not work or save videos. What’s the point of having security cameras if you cannot save videos locally? It’s not like we wanted to send and save videos to several devices. We wanted to save videos, to our tablet, that the App was running on. (We did not want yet another App on our phones so we bought a tablet specifically for this Yi Home App. Yet we cannot save tiny 6 second videos to it?) But oddly, you cannot go into the settings anywhere and click to "save to Micro SD storage". Nope! For some stupid reason. You have to buy Micro SD cards, and install them into the cameras. Or somehow the cameras will not work properly. Total waste of money! Do not get these cameras, or use this App. Unless you are ready to pay $7 a month for the stupid cloud storage. Or just so they will work properly. Or you will be throwing your money down the toilet! The only positive about these cameras is the picture quality. Buy guess what. It's 2021. All cameras are great quality now a days. Every time the App itself has problems. And when we contact Yi. They basically always say they are working on it and "will be fixed soon". But it never gets fixed. I don't know how this company is still making money. Well, from idiots like me. We're moving onto Blink. At least they tell you up front what you need to do and what to expect. And we'd rather pay $3 a month for a cloud subscription than $7 a month, plus taxes. From a company that obviously doesn't care about it's customers. 1 Star. Since you have to pay for the cloud for the App to work properly. And even then, will it still work? We think not!
