Our 3rd tank and ALL PUMPS have quickly failed. 90 day warranty, we're at 102 days, Ugghhh...
We are a pair of senior citizens and found the products cute, but you also need to fully understand they come with a dreadfully short life expectancy. I am writing this so you will perhaps understand that, and further, understand how all the glowing reviews these receive have mostly arrived (if not all of them) shortly after customers received their products. Note that. The company replaced our first unit when the pump went out much too quickly. They sent without hesitation a replacement and with all my gratitude for their fair resolution to that I thought a reward was in order. So I asked the CSA which unit I should buy so our kids could enjoy one at preschool, too? I mean, surely our short-lived tank that quickly failed was just an aberration, right? Of course! So, the CSA gave me a good recommendation so far as size and appearance goes and we bought what became our third unit. LOL @ me for doing this! ALL THREE of our jellyfish tanks are now failed, all of them for the identical reason, and none of the units lasted very long for what amounts to: a), less than average use, and b), only a few days beyond three months. Hence, you get this 90-day warranty. How do these companies know exactly how long something will last? That is a marvel unto itself if you ask me. Anyway, if money is no object and you are going to use these as a one-time party prop or for a weekend of visitors they might serve you well for that duration of time. If however you expect these to last much beyond 90 days as your backdrop of interest? If you are like us, we expect you are going to find yourself regretting ever becoming involved with these. On the above rationale I recommend avoiding the temptation of these. Finally, if you asked me to approximate how long these pumps last I would guesstimate they are usable for about 40-50 uses at their four-hour clips. The jellyfish are made of a rubber-like material (which is appropriate) and they resemble a live, swimming jellyfish because invariably they drift back into the water-action generated by the pump situated in the base; that pump sends water into the otherwise drifting jellyfish and sends them upwards to create a phenomenon to look as if they are propelling themselves. The jellyfish make great little pets! But they die when the pump dies and the pump dies WAY too soon to recommend the purchase of these. I repeat, we've now had THREE of these units and all failed for the same reason. We're at 102 days from invoice and now the company isn't reachable because the 90-day warranty leaves us on the wrong side of discussing it. So... We've now managed to accumulate three failed units, none of which functioned anywhere near what a product this simple, should. It's annoying to a degree I feel like I can't sit idly-by and feel the need to report on this because it's ridiculous, and, there's no good reason these people can't build a more durably-lasting product. It's all been a waste of money and even worse, the time wasted trying to remedy the failures that have been proven consistent with these purchases. That is all.
