Update: The replacement unit is now sitting in the garage waiting for my next dump trip, as we had unplugged it months ago. The green light (“time to clean” indicator) is on exponentially more often than the white light (“everything’s A.O.K!” indicator). This thing is so GD loud that I can easily mistake it for the furnace. It also can double as a space heater with what it puts out—nice if you like hot fruit. With all of the issues, complaints, and reviews I can’t believe GE is still selling this POS and AT LIST PRICE!!! Oh wait—it’s 15% off for the holidays! F GE!!! Got this for my wife for Christmas and was finicky right out of the box. Over the course of a week it has gone from little ice production to none at all. Somebody asked if it was a fish tank since all it does now is run the pump and trickle water—like a fish tank. Actually not a bad idea for the reservoir. On the plus side, Amazon is next-daying a replacement. Hope it’s just this one that turned out to be a P.O.S.
