So I compared 3 different robots: The Deebot N79S (I paid $130 Amazon Open Box) The Deebot 901 (this review) (I paid $299.99 New Amazon) Neato Botvac D5 (I paid $349.99 - $104.99 Cash Back at Best Buy) After comparing the three, I can definitively say the Botvac D5 is the clear winner. The N79S is useless outside of a single room or studio apartment and the 901 has attrocious software and too small of a reservoir. The Botvac D5 makes a very accurate map and after about 10 test runs, only became stuck once. The software is great and I used it with google assistant with no issue. The reservoir is huge, more than twice the capacity of the 901 and considerably bigger than the N79S. Its shape also allows it to reach corners. It doesn't lose map data when you move it. It supports the magnetic strips and digital zones to prevent it from going in to areas. All in all, a great bot. The 901 forces you to update to a newer firmware that makes it a disaster. Ecovacs has two apps: Ecovacs and Ecovacs Home. After you update, you have to switch to the Ecovacs Home app. The app is terrible and the robot becomes incredibly finicky and dumb. It also loses map data if you pick it up... Which you will need to do constantly unless your house consists of only tile/hardwood in a perfect square with zero obstacles. Somehow, the 901 doesn't come back full of dust/dog hair after every run even though it has a tiny resevoir. The Botvac comes back completely full each time, the thing hunts down and kills dust. I have a Eufy 11S on the way to have a low end tiny robot to get hard to reach spots and help the Botvac out. I also received a high-end Samsung robot as part of an appliance deal. I will update this review upon receiving those, but I don't see a way I couldn't be more satisifed with the Neato Botvac D5 and less satisfied with the Ecovacs products.
