I'm a 2L law student. I have a lot of books. This does not cut it. I received the bag today, will be sending it back tomorrow. Cannot recommend, definitely not keeping it. I also think for what I got, it was priced about 20% too high, assuming my stuff fit the bag. Quality Flaw: I'm starting with this, because it was the ultimate nail in the coffin on this bag. I'm including a picture. I pulled back the flap inside the bag that covers the framework for the handle, and you can see the grommets for the bottom of the case. Not only is one damaged (see the portion of metal missing), but some of the rivets do not look like they're going to hold up, one is completely rusted, and all the others have started rusting. Guessing that's why you see a silica packet they included. Doesn't look like it did its job. I would guess this area would get much much worse over a year's time. Front pouch: Entirely too small to hold much of anything, in my opinion. Yes, it will hold a few pens and business cards. Beyond that, I think you're out of luck. It has more little compartments than it will be able to hold items. I know if I was keeping the bag, the only thing I would end up using that section for would have been a phone charger/usb cables. Interior: Two or three days a week I need to take at least a couple of moleskine planners, three large textbooks and a 3-ring binder on campus with me. Usually, my laptop and another binder, plus a notebook, are added to that. Obviously a backpack would kill my back, which is why I need something that rolls and has room. The answer was not this bag. First, the large area is actually two medium areas, separated by a flap down the middle, which is not secured at the bottom, so if you toss in something smaller, good luck guessing which section it will end up in. Second, the sections are too small for my purposes. I can JUST fit a regular sized textbook in there, my ConLaw textbook (anyone who has taken ConLaw knows that's the biggest book to ever exist) is too thick to fit. Assuming I don't use the bag for my ConLaw book, I still can't fit two textbooks side by side, which is the whole point of getting a wider bag. I also couldn't fit a binder and a textbook in a single section. Very frustrating. Bottom line, I could have fit maybe two textbooks, a spiral notebook, a pencil case (since you can't use the front), and my laptop in this bag. Probably my moleskine planners as well. But I don't know what I'd do with my bigger textbook and two binders. Assumedly I would have to use a second bag, but that defeats the purpose of a rolling bag in my mind. Extending Handle: This actually looked pretty nice and sturdy. I pulled it out once and then collapsed it back. At that point I knew the bag wasn't for me, so I didn't really care to pay it much more attention. You do have to unzip a portion of the bag to get the handle out. This is probably very handy for some people who want to put the handle away and not see it/worry about it getting caught on anything. Strap Handles: They velcro together with a handle wrap, if you're into that kind of thing, then it's great. I dislike such wraps. Fabric: Seemed very sturdy, thicker than my High Sierra backpack (which has ripped, btw), and just as sturdy as my Timbuk2 bags, although the Timbuk2 fabric is lighter and I would trust it more. Wheels/bottom: I forgot to look… Sorry!
