No noise cancellation compared to the WH-1000XM3 I own. The sound is just muffled by the earpieces with external sound amplified or not by the system depending on the level you chose. Switching on/off NC does not change anything. With the headset, turning it on gives you an impressive immersion experience into silence. With this one, nothing. Could be a defective product, returning and will not try further. Not that if not properly fitted, will fall off easily. No water resistance, so forget it for the gym - will likely fall anyway, even properly adjusted. Will keep enjoying the WH headset, which is fantastic and has a real and super effective noise cancellation (and a much better sound than the last super expensive and plasticky Bose.
