initially disappointed...
First initial response was great disappointment... The whole thing has no "weight" to it, it felt really lightweight for a supposed heavy duty outdoor car cover. Also, my first question was "where are the 6 layers?" I can't say they're not there, but each layer must be thinner than a sheet of paper, because the whole thing is very thin. It's thin enough that we held it up to the light, and you can count the number of fingers being held up behind it (I know uv light is different, meaning non-uv light can pass through, and uv light is blocked, but it's still thin and non-uv passes through). Also, the zipper is metal, and there's about an 1.5" flap, that if flipped the right way, should protect the car from any possible damage from the metal zipper directly against the car. Obviously the flap is on the inside, so there's no way to make sure that it's flipped the right way, or even if it stays the right way. I do like the color, as it's a dull silver, which is great because I don't want to be blinded when the sun hits it. Also, the fit is perfect. I do like the reflective material on the front and mirrors (would be nice if it was on the back to, because you could park your car either direction...we had to back our car in, for the reflectors to face out...you could put it on backwards, but it's not made to fit the way). It has stood-up to 2 thunderstorms with heavy rain...no wind though. It was very easy to install, and it buckled together well at the front and back (sadly there's no buckle in the middle, just a loop on each side...we ran a cord through it for better strength for wind). I'll have to review later to comment on the "long-run", after all that's why we bought it and the description of 6-layers is so important to us.
