Ben Shapiro DESTROYS the English Language
This is a bad novel.
I don't mean that it's silly or trite or the plot doesn't make sense. It's definitely all of those things, but that's not why True Allegiance is so bad. The novel reads like it was penned by a teenager posting chapters on their WordPress blog in the early 2000s, right down to references to Baby One More Time and Saddam Hussein's secret stash of nuclear weapons. Ben Shapiro's writing is atrocious. It's laughable that certain segments of the political landscape believe him to be an intellectual giant when he writes things such as "He could feel the threat before he even knew he felt it." This is both a bizarre description as well as patently untrue as we know facts don't care about feelings. No sir!
And the racism! Every character who's described as darker than Ben's own Dracula complexion is a terrorist, murderer, traitor or "race hustler". It's SO BAD. Not even surface-level uncomfortable, this is deep to-the-bone bad.
I didn't buy this book, I borrowed it from the library. If you're truly curious about the ineptitude of mass destruction in this novel, I encourage you to do likewise rather than give Ben money for this "effort". DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK. Instead, spend your money on something that would make him angry, like buying an eight year-old ice cream or a Trans Rights charity.
