The Wirecutter's recommendation let me down on this one. I started out with the 9854-600 model, which broke down after a year of use. "You get what you pay for", I thought, so I purchased this model with the hope of an upgrade but I've been underwhelmed and thoroughly disappointed. The T-blade trimmer pulls hair CONSTANTLY. There is nothing more infuriating. It seems no amount of oil will help. Also, it seems absolutely any drop of water will render the base inoperable: it keeps going, failing to turn off after pressing the power button until waiting for the battery to drain. After only 3 months, the T-blade broke, together with the plastic bracket holding it in place. Peeking back at the Wirecutter's review, the comments are riddled with other customers citing similar QA issues. Please do better, Wahl.
