I have had this GPS for a week. In the auto mode, it seems to work as well as my 5 year old Nuvi. However, in RV mode it is worse than useless. Out of the box, I took it out in my car but in RV mode to see what it would do. I was about 20 miles from home with a perfectly fine 4 lane highway all the way to my street. I told it to "go home". It refused to take the highway and tried to get me to take side roads, dirt roads, forest service roads that are 4 wheel drive only. I counted at least 9 different turns it tried to take when NO turns are required. This being a new product that cost nearly $400, surely a call to Garmin will fix this. After over an hour on the phone with Garmin and an overnight map download, it still does exactly the same thing. I have asked it to take me home from barely 3 miles away and it tries to take every street except the right one. There are no low bridges, narrow roads, etc that you would want to avoid with an RV. We pull a 36 ft fifth wheel pretty much from coast to coast including New England. I can't imagine how much trouble this piece of junk could get an RVer into in an unfamiliar area. I have the return label printed and ready to go unless the Garmin people can perform magic on Monday when I call back. To update my Aug 8 review: I have returned the RV 660 to Amazon and have verified the credit to my card. Thank God for Amazon's return policy. My original purchase was for the RV capability as advertised on this new model. In fact, our old Nuvis work at least as well and the RV mode is worthless. If you are looking for a GPS with RV capability, this one is not it.
