I would NOT recommend this unit. I am very disappointed that the automatic paper detection feature stopped working after 2 1/2 years of light use. Now, when I insert a piece of paper to be shredded, the shredding function still works fine, but then the it never turns off after the paper has been shredded. I need to switch off the power and switch it back on to cause it to stop. Also, this unit has what I believe is something of a design flaw: Shreds of paper become stuck on the outside edges of the two rollers and it takes some effort to remove these shreds that become jammed there.
