Major issue with new version: Constantly Lit tailcap
I have owned 3 versions of this light, from the 1.0, to the original 2.0 and now the new 2.0. This is my 5th Tool from Lumintop. There is a major problem with the new version:
I use my light as an everyday carry light (in my pocket all the time) as well as at work in a professional setting. I use 14500 cells because that gives this light the best performance. The new lights have a blue LED in the tailcap which ALWAYS (literally, you can't turn it off) emits a blue light from the tailcap and is constantly draining battery!!!! WHAT?!!! Who thought that was a good idea?! Want to walk around in the dark and not have a blue light emitting from your body? Too bad. Want to put your light in a glovebox and be able to open it up and know your light is still fully charged ans hasn't been draining battery for months powering a blue light in your glovebox? too bad. Want to work in a professional setting and not have a blue light emitting from your body? Too bad. The new tailcap always is flatter and more recessed which makes it harder to toggle on while wearing gloves and its smoother, giving it less texture. It also doesn't have the instant on feature of previous tailcap. A major step in the wrong direction for an otherwise great light which needed no modification other than a stronger sturdier pocket clip. At least provide the original non-emitting non-draining tailcap, or offer this one as a seperate edition/model.
Otherwise this is a great light. Cheap. Fairly rugged given the price. My oldest one which has been dropped countless times and used as a prybar and occasionally flickers. They are bright. Wide beam, white beam. Light and small. Memory function.
