As a professional formulator of natural skin care products, I decided to try this myself in a couple of my products. Within days of mixing my formulas and allowing them to sit for 10 days (and not necessarily being open and used mind you), my water based formulas smelled "yeasty". I didn't have an official micro-challenge performed, but I can assure you that this product is not a legitimate skin care preservative! In fact, if a novice formulator relied on this as a preservative system for a water based formula (and given the right conditions), they are risking their health. For instance, eye contact with an inadequately preserved water soluble product could wind up causing a really nasty eye infection. I use other natural preservative systems which work very well and pass the standardized microbial challenge testing. And btw, GOOGLE "leucidal" and see what you find....
