Too small, not absorbent, worthless, a little evil
Okay ladies (and gents?) I'm about to lay down some real truth in this review, so if you're easily grossed out, please take this opportunity to excuse yourself from the table. So I'm a particular person about most things, but in general I've kind of accepted my fate as a female to have a female reproductive cycle. When I'm on my period, I'll take what I can get. When I'm ovulating, give me a pantyliner and I'll be good. I mention this because it takes a lot of hatred of a product for me to get on here and rant and rave about it, especially when it's in regard to something this utilitarian. I don't expect much, okay? Alright, when I was younger, I was like "What is a pantyliner for? Either you need a pad or you don't!" So I never purchased them. Then I got older and more “fertile" and discovered the wonder that is feminine fertile discharge. Oh. That's what pantyliners are for. I was in need of some more one day, and I’ll admit, I fell for the cute colors, designs, and packaging of these products. Little did I know what trouble their brightly colored evil would cause me. These are either not made for women who ovulate, or are for women who want to change them every five minutes. I've taken pictures to show you EXACTLY how small these are, and how little they cover and absorb. These do adhere well to underwear, I'll give them that. The area that is more transparent is purely adhesive, and not absorbent at all. The white area is the area that is absorbent. It's the length of my palm, and about 1/4 as wide. (I do not have large hands.) It's a little more thick (maybe by a millimeter or less), and maybe more absorbent than say, a piece of generic paper towel. We're not talking about Bounty here, folks. We're talking Dollar General Brand paper towels. Try to clean up a liquid spill with these, I dare you. I have used an entire box of these because I purchased one and refused to waste it— so I have run the gambit on these. Every time I had to apply another one, I grew to hate them more and more. Lets go through different reasons you’d need a pantyliner, okay? 1. Lets say you’re a young woman who hasn’t yet been visited by "Aunt Flo," but you want to practice wearing a pad and feeling like a grown-up. These are 100% perfect for that purpose. 2. You wear tampons and need —just a little bit— of extra protection only on days you are menstruating. I wouldn’t recommend these unless you know your cycle well enough to rarely ever have any kind of leak ever. They are not very absorbent, so as soon as you do have a leak, you have approximately 5 minutes to get a new one and a new tampon depending on the size of the leak. If the leak is 1-10 drops, you are safe. More than that, it will get on your underwear and your clothes. I wore these with my menstrual cup and if I ever waited a few minutes too long to empty it out, these provided basically no extra protection. They were worthless. 3. You are a woman who has fertile discharge during ovulation, and/or other various vaginal "treats." These are not for us. Listen, I know we don’t like to talk about this, but I am not some unique woman who has cups of fertile liquid pouring out of her. I am very, very average. I only wear pantyliners for comfort and to keep my underwear more clean—but many times during the duration of my using these, I was more comfortable and felt more fresh using only my underwear than using these. On the days I was ovulating, I had to change these up to three times a day. I don’t know about you, but I don’t have the time or space to carry around that many of these! If you sneeze a little bit and accidentally let out a few drops of pee? Forget about it. You might as well not be wearing anything. These are the worst pantyliners I’ve ever used, and I am beyond excited that I finally used my last one and can purchase something else.
