Read the fine print - "Not suitable for backyard composting". I had been looking for a bag that would fit my new 1.3 gallon kitchen composting bin and had hoped to transfer them (weekly or so) to my larger outdoor compost bin (for eventual use in my vegetable garden). The size was great but found they did leak liquid on the bottom after a few days. I didn't mind that too much as I liked the fact that it at least kept the sides of my kitchen bin pretty clean. The problem was that although the Amazon product description notes: "Compostable plastic bags ...Ideal for kitchen organics...etc", I failed to see the extremely small print on the picture of the box that notes "Not suitable for backyard composting". Although it doesn't state why, it may be that they don't decompose entirely (as other reviews have stated) or that they aren't vegetable garden/food safe. Although the box notes they are "100% compostable bags", they unfortunately won't work with 100% of composting bins. UPDATE 5/4/17: The one bag I placed in my compost bin last summer still remains un-decomposed (see picture attached).
