Dangerous Item With Poor Results
I read the reviews before purchasing and thought that the comments about crushing rather than splitting pills was due to the consistency of various pills.
Some pills are softer than others, some have coatings, etc,
So when my first pill got crushed, I tried another type of pill with same result....then I tried an aspirin and it too was crushed...then I tried a coated tablet, and it didn't crush but was split into three uneven pieces.
Also, as mentioned in these reviews, the razor blade is very exposed and easily touched when placing pills into the cutter.
I certainly wouldn't want someone with bad eyesight, shaky hands, arthritis, etc handling this product.
I get better results splitting pills with a large kitchen knife on a paper plate using the tip of the knife as a pivot point and holding pill in position with thumb and index finger from above the blade so pill halves don't shoot away when split.
That all said.....has anyone found a pill splitter that actually works?
