This is a big disappointment because there is hardly anything in this package that is about explosive chemistry. They have completely changed the definition of explosive to basically sell the same chemistry experiments (some are not even chemistry related at all!) that you can buy in any other chemistry set. For example: - one experiment is called fireworks - this is basically water in a transparent container on top of which you add oil and then food coloring - when the drop of food coloring gets through the oil into the water is creates an effect like fireworks - first of all this has nothing to do with fireworks or explosions - it is UNDER WATER!!!; secondly the effect is NOT similar to fireworks! My 6 years old son saw that and told me that! - another experiment is about folding a sheet of paper and then run it fast through the air to make a noise when it is forcefully unfolded. NO CHEMISTRY what so ever in this! - a balloon with water over a flame is not explosive chemistry; NOT EVEN CHEMISTRY! - a balloon rocket on a string is NOT CHEMISTRY! - an M&M dropped into water that moves from cold to warm is NOT CHEMISTRY! It is physics, fluids, thermodynamics, mechanics, NOT CHEMISTRY! Where is the explosive combustion stuff clearly printed on the packaging ??? I can't tell you how it feels to see the disappointment on my son's face! He is 6 and feels tricked and betrayed! And, no, it is not because I induced that to him! I am actually doing my best to get the good parts of this set into focus for him. The only half-interesting part is the iron powder sprinkled on the flame of a candle... I would not recommend this kit at all (especially not for what it is supposed to be about, from its description and packaging)!
