The main characters are not portrayed in the same way as in the books
I am sure Tom Clancy is turning over in his grave at the terrible portrayal of his characters in the Amazon production of Jack Ryan. One thing that Tom Clancy is known for is the accuracy of how agencies (FBI,CIA,Military) respond to a crisis or their procedure of operation. A CIA agent picking up someone at a bar in a foreign country during an operation is extremely taboo. That would be a "Honey Pot" operation and only an incompetent operative would do something like that. It has happened but only to the most incompetent of agents. An American convoy most of the time would only have American Military managing it because of the lack of trust of third world governments. These writers are not fact checking their story on how overseas US operations normally function. They should have considered bringing in a former military expert before writing this story. I know it is fiction but why not make it accurate on why our outstanding military and intelligence ace cues work?
Politically it was also inaccurate on what is going on in Venezuela. This show would probably be entertaining to a 14 year old that doesn’t know what is really going on in the world.
