Okay I tried to email Amazon but got stuck with the chat- they gave me a number which I called and got with several very nice Indian people- i'm from the US but they spoke very good English but had trouble understanding my problem. My kindle fire 7 port has always been too low- I bought it 6 months ago for my daughters birthday so I obviously wasn't sending it right back. We have had zero problems with it other than being a little "wonky" to charge. Until last night. It must have caught fire or got soooo hot it melted the port and the charger. Amazon offered me a 10% discount if I bought a new one but I told them I just wanted to send an email to let the company know. I'm glad our house didn't burn down over a $50 tablet. People need to know though. So they said I couldn't send an email but I could leave a comment 😜 I will post a picture of the low melted port vs my sons higher newer 8 port. I think this must be a problem that they are not talking about
