★☆☆☆☆
What a painful experience.
Let me start out by saying that I love stories about witches, vampires, werewolves, etc. I think Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles are a work of art. I admit that I think few supernatural books rise to Rice's level, but I've read quite a few that at least were entertaining and didn't make me cringe. How do you go from a heroine with so much going for her in the first third of the book to the whiny, brainless bimbo thereafter? I am so sick of the attitude that love turns a woman into an idiot--like she can't be smart and independent and be in love at the same time. I can't decide which heroine is worse--Bella from Twilight or Diana. At least Bella had an excuse--she was a child. Diana has no excuse. I could barely make it through this book, and I certainly wouldn't read the second book even if it was free.
