On the 6th day a DEAD Blue Vertical Pixel line appeared, with no fix!
Set is beautiful to look at. Picture was great for the first 5 days until on day 6 a "lovely" vertical blue line appeared just left of center. Tried trouble shooting the problem, only to find no fix ~ likely dead PIXEL line. For the money I paid for a new TV you would think it would last more than 6 days without a serious technical problem. UPDATE ~ Seller declined return & exchange request. they said deal with warranty with Samsung. Called Samsung on a 3 way call with the Amazon Tech team on 12/11/2014. They had me run a self diagnostic picture test. Then set up an appointment for Monday 12/15/2014. Nothing happened on Monday. On Friday 12/16/2014 I missed the call from the repair company Samsung uses, but rep left a voice mail. She wasn't sure of my name then started to reference a Vizio TV only to correct herself and say Samsung. I called them back a couple of hours later and that rep was quite helpful and said I needed to send them another picture of the screen so they could get the parts ordered. He said I would be getting a call from a local repair man (who is 60 miles away) within a few days.. Well I received a call from a local repair man on Thursday 18th. He said the original repair company declined the repair ticket, which then sent it back to Samsung to be reissued. I needed to send him 4 more pictures (one with TV serial number, regular screen pic, test screen of beach, test screen with blue/grey lines). He would then forward them to Samsung and they would the decide on the repair. He needs Samsung's approval before he can order the parts for the repair (new screen). Still waiting and its now 12/22/2014 and I have the same blue line. Its quite a ordeal to deal with the warranty, and so far has been nothing but a huge headache. I will post updates as they happen Update 1/02/2015 ~ repair man called me on 12/22 at 6:27pm to say repair was approved and he had ordered a new screen that day. He estimated it would be in the next week and hopefully it would be installed on 1/02/2015 (which is today). I called the repair man tonight at 6pm to get an update and he said the screen was on back-order and hadn't checked for updates for the screen that day. He would go through his emails and see if there was a change in the repair status. Received a call back and it was shipped out on Dec 29th, with an estimated delivery date of January 8th. He hopes to be here on Jan 9th to repair tv. He will call if anything changes. Repair man said that once 2 weeks have passed from the original parts order date, Samsung will either "buy me out" or will replace the set (not sure if it will be same model or not). He said that generally takes about 3 weeks. Update 1/13/2015 ~ The TV repair man called me on 1/8 and let me know the replacement screen arrived and he could be here the following day on 1/9 to fix the TV. He was very professional and timely. I'd post the repair shop name, but I don't know if it is allowed. If you want his name just drop me a note by commenting on the review. Its now 1/13 and the tv is working perfectly. On 1/09/2015 a couple of hours after the repair man left I received a phone call from Samsung customer service asking if the set was fixed. I told her yes and the repair man was wonderful. Then I began to explain my dis-satisfaction with the repair company they contract with and she transferred me to the "executive customer service" line. Wow I've never felt so belittled by a company rep in my life. She said I have no right to blame Samsung for the repair problems and "how dare I" post a bad review on -line about the TV and Samsung. She told me that it was my fault for the repair problems as I purchased the TV from a 3rd party seller on Amazon and they could have done something to damage the TV. She told me that if I would have purchased the TV directly from Samsung on-line I would have had a replacement set immediately! They apparently have 2 ways they handle a warranty issue, which I was quite astonished that she would tell me this. I asked what the warranty process is if you purchase from a wholesale blub or big box retailer and she refused to answer me. She said I can't blame Samsung for the repair company, even though SAMSUNG are the ones who have a contract with them (they hired that lousy company! ~ she just wouldn't admit it). She then asked me if there was anything else I needed and when I said no she hung up on me! Needless to say I will never purchase another Samsung product. This is the worst customer service I have ever had. Love my Samsung phone but I have no desire to be treated like that again. She had an attitude and said it was all my fault. Seriously?? Buyer beware! Extremely disappointed in the warranty & repair process for Samsung.
