Man what a disappointment these were. My wife has very sensitive ears. She loves earrings but cannot wear them because she always buys the Icing/Claires ones that irritate her ears. I got these hoping they would work. And they did! She wore them all day and went on and on about how cute they were and comfortable they were. She absolutely adored them. Then bedtime came and she wanted to take them out. One came off no problem. The other did not. After almost an hour, her ear became swollen and painful from trying to unlatch the second earring over and over again. She began to have a panic attack. I kept trying to pry it off but it wouldn’t budge. She became very anxious because it was hurting her ear so badly. I told her we needed to cut it off and she was not happy about that. We discussed going to the ER. Luckily, I found a pair of wire cutters in my toolbox small enough that I felt comfortable trying. I disinfected them with alcohol and we literally performed surgery with tweezers and extreme caution. We had to fold her earlobe back and position the tiny ring just far enough that I could get the wire cutter in between her ear and the hoop. She was very scared the whole time. Luckily, I was able to maneuver it just so and clamp down. Unbelievably, just me starting to apply strong pressure to the ring itself (not the bar/latch, because it wasn’t accessible) caused the earring to finally pop open. Now even though it looks perfectly fine, it won’t latch shut. So first it wouldn’t unlatch. Now it won’t latch. What started as a wonderful gift that we were both very happy with, ended in a painful, stressful night at 2am almost going to the ER. MANY OTHER REVIEWS SAY THE SAME THING! We were lucky. Some poor folks injured their ears, got infections, etc. I am begging you not to buy these torture devices. The quality control of this seller is awful. These are very stylish earrings that could have been so wonderful, but a small defect in the critical design of the latch makes them not only unusable, but completely unsafe. I am returning these immediately and looking for a higher quality earring of a similar style tomorrow to replace them. TL;DR Dangerous, defective, awful design. Almost sent us to the emergency room. Christmas night became a stressful panic while I had to cut them off with wire cutters. DO NOT BUY!!
