Great, until it BROKE
I bought this bag because a "real" heavy bag is very difficult to hang, I don't really have room for a bag stand, and I didn't want to tear up my ceiling. My biggest concern with this bag was stability. I was afraid that it would be wobbling all around the floor. To my surprise, it hasn't moved an inch. I'm not a professional mind you, I just use this for after work haymaker sessions to let off some steam. The omniflex feature does a great job of keeping the base in place without having too much give. With heavy hitting, it flexes at about 30-40 degrees and pops back really fast. It's hit me in face more than once I'm ashamed to say. I'm 6'4 and the bag is obviously shorter than me, but it doesn't feel unnatural. At its highest setting, it is about the height of most of the people I dislike, so it works out. The padding is much softer than a standard heavy bag, but you will still want to use gloves. My only gripe, and it is minor, is that the padding has worn down quicker than I had hoped. I strike it at roughly the same height most of the time and the padding at that height became visibly indented or compressed, all the way around after just a month or so. Maybe that could be fixed by removing the padding and mushing it about, but I haven't tried that yet. Overall though, this is one of my better impulse buys. Edit: BROKEN - I work in IT where I spend 8 hours a day behind a desk and I have the physique to match. So believe me when I say that if I was able to break this thing, then you don't want it. After less than a year, the plastic tube that holds the bag itself to the base snapped. As I mentioned in my review, I only used this to blow off steam after work. I never bent it down for knee strikes or did anything out of the ordinary. Considering that a weakling like myself broke the bag, I wouldn't recommend the Omniflex to anyone except maybe children or those with a degenerative muscular disease. It is also worth mentioning that Everlast's customer service is on par with Comcast. Once I was finally able to contact someone and they found that I no longer had my receipt for the item, I was completely ignored - even after I offered to pay for the replacement part.
