This book left me so angry that I had ' read it! This book was well written & the transition between chapters was smooth; hell the timeline stayed consistent, but the story itself was total junk. There's trouble in paradise....Is the husband dead? Missing? Kidnapped? Or did he simply walk away? The book totally changes directions halfway through & the story of the missing husband takes the back burner. In fact, a little before half, you have a pretty good idea what happened to him. Rather than unfold all the juicy secrets that led Claire to seriously doubt Greg, the author skims over it to where you feel like maybe they had issues but nothing shocking that leaves you desperate to know what happens. The book never explains a few things Greg did, it simply mentions his odd behavior and never loops back for an explanation. The book becomes more focused on Claire's social life than her missing husband and the circumstances around it. The end is just crap cuz even though you find out what happened to Greg, there isn't a whole lot of detail. It's like "ok here's the truth, here's how/why it happened, now let's get on with Claire's social life." This is more of a boring romantic comedy than a suspense novel. Trust me, you're gonna be PISSED at the end if you picked up this book to read about "how you never really know somebody" & "what would you do if your spouse disappeared without a trace?" .....please! The author puts such little emphasis on where Greg might be that it's pathetic! Don't do it! I can't get those hours back!
