I purchase this Flag Pole Light from Amazon in May 2012. I live in sunny SoCal, but near the beach, so some days are cloudy. I had tested the light in a closed bathroom to make sure if was functioning correctly. All LEDs were nice and bright. I put this light on top of my 20ft flag pole and was expecting to see all that bright LED light shining down on my flag that night. I was very puzzled... only one section of the 4 was lit up. I shook the flag pole and the other sections flashed, I shook it some more and then they came on, but that didn't last. I took the light back down the next day and checked it in the bathroom again. No problem.. all sections lighting nice and bright. Put it back on the flag pole and the same thing happened that night. I sent an e-mail to Annin describing the problem I was having. They said to send it in with a letter describing the problem (at my cost) and they would replace it at no cost. After reading more of the reviews here, I decided to take the &^$%#$ thing apart and check for bad solder joints. Low and behold.. I found all the solder joints on the battery cases were cold joints. I re-soldered them and will see if this fixes the problems I have. I will post an update tomorrow to let you know if that was it. Other reviews here have stated that the quality control for this product needs to be improved - especially at this price-point. Annin needs to kick their supplier in the butt regarding such poor quality for this rather pricey light. Here's an update - 08/12/12: The light is working as expected, all sections are working after I re-soldered all the joints on the battery cases. I don't recommend anyone purchase one of these unless you know how to use a soldering iron. Update. 03/05/2013. Only one section of the light stays on now. I wouldn't buy this product again!
