Not quite the wave I anticipated...
Ok, so after reading multiple raving reviews on this product, I anticipated a blender capable of whipping up a good hummus or smoothie. Nope. It took over 5 minutes to make a smoothie with frozen fruit, and there was nothing smooth about; it was super chunky. The same thing happened when I added a can of chickpeas with water, olive oil and tahini. It took over 20 minutes with repeated stirring to move the heavier pieces toward the blade and many pauses so as to not burn the motor out. The whip puree button seemed to work better than the smoothie and crushed-ice ones, but my result, after much labor and time, was something consistent with extra crunchy peanut butter. I kept adding water to make it less thick, and thus perhaps more easily blendable, but that didn't seem to help much as I ended up with super soupy, crunchy hummus. Perhaps, I got a lemon, but given the reviews, I anticipated something far better than this. My old blender died, so I am currently using my mother's vintage one from 1970, and, sad to say, it works as effectively as the Hamilton Beach Wave Crusher I tried.
