I'm surprised to get a review request for this item as it's been returned... so that should set the tone for what I thought of this olive oil. I was excited to try this "Extra Virgin" olive oil from AmazonBasics. It had generally good reviews and appeared to be a good value. As usual, shipping was fast and the item was undamaged. The positive experience ends there though. The oil I received could not possibly be misconstrued as Extra Virgin grade. I first tried it on some fresh bread with oil and could not finish the first slice. Thinking it might have been the bread or salt, I tried sampling it from a teaspoon and nearly gagged. It had the consistency of vegetable oil, almost no smell, and an acrid taste. Thinking that my tastes could be off, I had several other people try it (without first sharing my opinion) and the response was unanimous: stay away.
