Intended to give it as a gift, but was disappointed when I received and read it. There's subversive stereotypical messages that I am uncomfortable communicating to children: the Native Americans look like stereotypical Indians with feathers and bows and the Arabic people look like they're from a previous century with swords and piles of gold-not real humans one could identify with. Are they being presented as mythological characters like the Norse God? Somehow doesn't equate. And the two black characters, one lives in a shack in Africa and the other an apartment in the city. The city apartment would cool, if only the other didn't live in a shack while all the light skinned people live in quaint or wealthy homes free-standing homes.
