Don't expect too much from this drill guide. I have been looking for a decent one for years. I have tried General, Craftsman and a couple others. In all honesty, none of them are very good. The bearing where the drive shaft passes through the frame is a mediocre sleeve bearing. A lot of slop and on this one the chuck is slightly cocked on the shaft so when you run the drill the bit travels in a small circle. I for one would be happy to pay $100 for a quality portable drill guide that has good bearings and accurate machining and a high quality chuck but I am probably the exception. I use my floor drill presses whenever possible but for accurately drilling an installed part inside a boat, these types of drill guides are the only option I know of. Wish I could find one that works well.
