★★☆☆☆
Great looking, affordable, good fit, light but very thick with some quality issues
This cover is similar in design to Amazon Kindle Classic (original) cover. It is light, fits the Voyage well, is comfortable to use, and pleasant to look at. Update 11/25/2014: After using the cover for a week, I found I do not like it after all and changed my rating from 5 to 2 stars. I cannot get over the protruding magnet issue (on two covers, since I tried to remedy it by doing an exchange), and the cover is so thick it defeats the purpose of buying Kindle Voyage in the first place. Additional details for OCD buyers like me: Pros: 1. Sky blue color, which is more turquoise, is absolutely beautiful. 2. The cover is VERY light. It weighs 104g / 3.65oz, which makes it lighter than Amazon's origami cover by 27g / 0.95oz, which is a lot when it comes to comfort while reading if the device is being held. The Voyage with cover weighs only 284g total, which is only 4g more than Kindle Classic original with original cover. 3. The border goes fully around the Kindle with the exception of a cutout along the left edge where the cover flap attaches. When closed, the Kindle is protected on all sides, unlike with the origami cover. 4. Easy removal of Kindle from cover thanks to the cutout in border where the flap attaches, as described above. 5. Magnetic waking of the device when the cover is open. 6. Additional magnets built into the border keep the cover in a closed position (it's also a con for me). 7. Kindle snaps in place securely. 8. Comfortable to hold, because in addition to being light, the frame provides additional real estate for your thumb, where you can rest it next to the page turn buttons, rather than on top of them. Either way - you have a choice where to hold it. 9. Aesthetically pleasant. 10. Ergonomic to use - you simply don't think about it, it feels good. 11. Relatively well made, although nowhere close to Amazon's quality. 12. Affordable, costs 25% of Amazon origami's price. Cons: 1. The magnets that help keep the cover shut protrude out of the plastic frame at an angle making for a sharp edge. I exchanged the cover and found the the next one didn't have the magnets flush, either. That's a quality issue that bothers me enough not to like this cover. 2. The border that hugs the Voyage is not flush with the device, but protrudes slightly beyond it. 3. The cover is mighty thick for some reason, especially the flap. It takes away a lot from Voyage's grace. 4. The cover, when viewed from the long opening edge, seems to be slightly bowed. 5. Additional magnets, which keep the cover in a closed position, make it a bit of a wrestling match to open when not used to resistance. 6. Although a pretty nice feel overall, it does feel artificial and slippery to the touch, a supple leather feel would be nicer.
