Brass plating is the process of depositing a thin layer of brass onto the surface of a metallic object. The base of the product is plastic, so, it's better described as "brass painted". The product was delivered on time. The price wasn't unreasonable, but I would have been willing to pay more for real brass or brass plated "metal", but had little success in finding what I was looking for. That said, now that my wife has all 12 of them taped to the window sills and it's not worth the effort to return them, I would recommend that after you add this product to your cart, go to office supplies and add a roll of tape to your cart as well. You'll need it. I could have given this 3 stars which means "it's okay", but I gave it 2 stars since I consider the description deceptive. Buyers really shouldn't have to read all of the negative reviews to find out that the product description is less than accurate.
