I just finished Episode 6, and I might actually be done with the show. I expect changes to the source material when adapting a novel series that's over 10,000 pages and 4.4million words. But at this point, the story being told barely matches what's in the books; it's become "The Wheel of Time" in name only. Many of the changes are unnecessary and/or blatantly stupid. Vast swathes of the story have been cut out to make room for scenes that aren't even hinted at in the books...and written by hacks who wouldn't be worthy to fetch Robert Jordan a new pen with which to take notes. I started to write a list of the things that are working to destroy the story, but I decided not to take the time or invest the effort. I had high hopes for this show, and I legitimately tried to give it a chance. I tried to look at the changes to the story as necessary modifications to make it work on screen. But at this point, it's not even worth bothering.
